Plot summary
The film revolves around the emotional journey of two teachers, Vidya (Shabana Azmi) and Jyoti (Juhi Chawla), who work at a Mumbai-based high school. Kamini is ambitious and ruthless, and wants to make the school more profitable by replacing the old teachers with young and inexperienced ones. She also imposes harsh rules and regulations on the staff and students, such as removing chairs from classrooms, charging for tea, and shuffling subjects. Vidya, who is one of the senior teachers, suffers a heart attack after being fired by Kamini. Jyoti, who is Vidya's friend and colleague, decides to fight back against Kamini and the corrupt board of trustees, led by Anmol (Arya Babbar). She uses a TV channel as a platform to expose the injustice done to Vidya and other teachers, and to raise awareness about the importance of teachers in society.
