Christmas Homework Year 6

Below is homework for the children to complete over the Christmas holidays, although I do not expect the children to complete all of it. I have included a selection of different topics so your child can pick which one(s) takes their interest.

All pupils are given a Planner at the start of the year and are expected to take it to all lessons. The Planner is an important aid to personal organisation and communication. Parents are encouraged to sign it weekly.Amongst other things it contains a homework timetable. Please note that Year 6 pupils in the run up to SATS are only given Maths and English homework. Pupils are expected to do homework in order to reinforce work done in school and to build the habit of planned, individual study. This become progressively more demanding as pupils proceed through school. Homework is recorded in Pupil Planners but pupils and parents will find more detailed information on EduLink.

Occasionally, we may ask for additional research tasks to be completed. This may be because the research around this subject is vital in order to complete the lesson in class, and it avoids taking too much time out of the year 6 timetable.

Homework will be set and returned every Thursday. If your child is struggling to complete their homework, they must see their teacher or LSA before the Thursday hand-in date. As mentioned above, please use the prompt sheets at the bottom of the table as guidance also.
